Lower Burrell to host Easter Bunny drive-thru

An Easter Bunny Drive-Thru for children in prekindergarten through third grade will be by appointment from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at city hall, 2800 Bethel St.

Children can wave to the Easter Bunny and treat bags will be distributed. Volunteers will follow covid-19 protocols. Registration is required. To register, visit cityoflowerburrell.com.


Summer drive-in movie series to begin Friday

The Allegheny County Parks Family Drive-In Movie Series will begin the year Friday night at the Boyce Park Wave Pool parking lot, 740 Frankstown Road, Plum.

The free featured film will be, “Hop,” rated PG. Gates will open at 6 p.m. and the movie will begin at dusk. Gates will close when the movie starts, or the venue reaches capacity.

Movie audio is played through a radio transmitter on 87.9 FM.


Salvation Army free lunch distribution planned Thursday

The Allegheny Valley Salvation Army and Community Center in Brackenridge offers free grab and go lunches from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays in parking lot at the center, 917 Brackenridge Ave.

April 20: Kiski Township Volunteer Fire Department is accepting orders for a Marianna’s Hoagie and Pizza sale. Orders and payment are due by April 10. Delivery will be April 20. Hoagies are 14 inches and varieties are Italian, ham and Swiss, turkey, All-American, roast beef, smoked ham and cheddar, traditional, three cheese and ham club. Wednesday: A quilt raffle will benefit Frankie’s Friends Cat Rescue in New Kensington and Black Cat Cat Rescue in Pittsburgh. The quilt is 37 x 37-inches and includes a hanging rod.
