Westmoreland Master Gardeners offer free hotline
The free advice hotline sponsored by the Westmoreland Penn State Extension Master Gardeners will open Thursday to help residents with gardening questions and concerns.
Topics available include how to conduct a soil test, growing vegetables, fruits, ornamentals and turf grass, plant identification, pruning, wildlife and insect and disease problems.
Questions can be emailed along with name, email address, telephone number, address and county to WestmorelandMG@psu.edu. Gardeners can also call the hotline at 724-858-4045 and leave a message.
Fire company to start annual fund drive
Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Company is conducting its annual fund drive for 2021. Letters were mailed to all residents, businesses and property owners within their service area.
If you did not receive a donation request in the mail and wish to donate to the fire company, mail your donation to Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 155, Sarver PA 16055.
Community Good Friday service planned
The annual community Good Friday service hosted by Allegheny Valley Association of Churches will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 857 10th Ave., Brackenridge.
Social distancing will be observed and sanitizing available. The service can also be viewed on the association Facebook page, facebook.com/avaoc.
