Bowling fundraiser to aid Allegheny Valley Association of Churches
Allegheny Valley Association of Churches will host a bowling fundraiser, “Bowling for Blessings,” at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Wildlife Lanes, Wildlife Lodge Road, Lower Burrell.
Cost is $15 per bowler, and includes three hours of bowling, shoe rental and one pitcher and one pizza per lane. Teams of four to 6 people can be registered. There will be a bake sale.

Cabin Fever Reliever event planned March 14
Cabin Fever Reliever, a raffle fundraiser to benefit the Alle-Kiski Area HOPE Center, will be from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 14 at the Natrona Heights Veterans of Foreign Wars, 894 Veterans Drive, Harrison.
Admission is $10 and includes lunch, pop, beer and one entry into the door prize drawing. Drawings will be every half hour and there will be cash bar. Raffle tickets will be 20 tickets for $10.

Knead Community Cafe accepting donations
Knead Community Café, New Kensington, is accepting donations to help in the daily operation of the café, 1011 Barnes St.
Items on the café’s wish list include: 6-inch Styrofoam dessert plates, 8-ounce Styrofoam coffee cups, name tag labels, iodized table salt and fine ground pepper to refill shakers, coffee stirrers and gift cards to Sam’s Club and Amazon. For a complete list, visit Knead Community Café on Facebook.

March 22: The Elks will host a vendor bingo at 1 p.m. at the lodge, 228 Market St. Doors open at noon. There will be 13 bingo games with vendor prizes and a $250 must-go jackpot. The kitchen will be open, and there will be small games of chance, silent auctions and a 50/50 raffle. Those attending must be at least 18 years old. Cost: $20. June 6: Leechburg Public Library is accepting space applications for a spring book sale and vendor/crafter sale planned for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Leechburg Volunteer Fire Hall, First Street. Cost: $20 for an 8-foot space; plus a donation of an item worth at least $15 for the auction. Electricity available by request. Vendors may bring their own table and tables will be available for an additional $10. Paid reservations required. April 17: A drag queen bingo at 7 p.m. at the Oklahoma School House Hall, 171 Thorn St. Doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets include a catered buffet, water and pop. BYOB Tickets: before April 7, $25; after April 7, $35. Those who purchase tickets before Feb. 14 will be entered into a drawing to win $20 in strip tickets. There will be a basket auction, 50/50 raffle and strip tickets. Proceeds will benefit animal rescues Tiny Cause in Vandergrift and the Proper Pit Bull.

The American Wine Society will host the 37th annual Pittsburgh Wine Experience and Amateur Wine Competition from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 29 at the Comfort Inn and Suites, 180 Gamma Drive, RIDC Park, O’Hara.
The conference is cosponsored by CFP Winemakers and Presque Isle Wine Cellar, and is open to members the public who are at least 21 years old.
Admission is $70, $65 for those who register by March 23, and includes seminar attendance, lunch, a souvenir glass and access to the walk-around tasting of commercial winery offerings in the Showcase of Wines.
Amateur wine makers are encouraged to enter the Amateur Wine Competition. Entry fee is $15 per bottle and medals will be awarded.
