Salvation Army accepting summer camp reservations

Reservations for summer camp at the Salvation Army Camp Allegheny in Ellwood City are now being accepted.

Cost is $25 per child per session and includes transportation. An outdoor adventure camp for children ages 6 to 12 will be June 24 to 28. Paperwork must be completed by May 21. A music camp for children ages 6 to 13 will be July 15 to 20. The paperwork deadline is June 18.

Seed-starting workshop offered at community library

Community Library of Allegheny Valley will sponsor a free workshop March 16 for adults to learn how to start tomato and pepper seeds at the library, 1522 Broadview Blvd., Harrison.

Half-hour sessions will be at 9, 9:30, 10 and 10:30 a.m. Seeds, soil and 12 Jiffy pots will be supplied. Bring a shoebox or small container to take your planted seeds home. Reservations are required.
