Burrell High School to present spring musical

The Burrell High School Drama Club will present the musical, “A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum,” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the high school auditorium, Puckety Church Road, Lower Burrell.

Produce to People distribution planned

Food distribution by Produce to People, sponsored by the Allegheny Valley Association of Churches, will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the old Rite-Aid building, 411 Corbet St., Tarentum.

Bring a box, durable bags, a laundry basket, a cooler or wheeled cart for the food. Dress warmly and bring a chair if you need one.

Volunteers are always needed and should plan to arrive at 4:30 p.m. Parking is available up Fourth Street at Central Presbyterian Church, or on Corbet Street, and River and Fourth avenues. Individuals, groups and organizations, including high school or college students looking for a project, are welcome. For information, call the Association of Churches at 724-226-0606.


AVH Auxiliary to raffle Irish dinner and basket raffle

Allegheny Valley Hospital Auxiliary is raffling off a Chef Terry’s Basket of Irish food and an Irish dinner to be prepared in your home.

Tickets are $1 each or six for $5, cash only, and will be sold from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday through March 17 in the hospital lobby, 1301 Carlisle St. The drawing will be at 3:30 p.m. March 17.

Proceeds will benefit auxiliary-sponsored hospital projects.


Afterschool help available for Highlands students

The Building Block of Natrona offers a free afterschool program for Highlands School District students in kindergarten through 12th grade from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays at the offices of Allegheny Family Network North, 1600 Pacific Ave., Harrison.

Tuesday: The CPUser Group, a computer and technology club, will hold a general meeting at 7 p.m. in the hall at Holy Martyrs Church, 344 W. Ninth Ave. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. The presentations will be, “Password Managers: What They Are and Why You Need One,” by John Korkowski, and “Android Tips ‘n’ Tricks,” by Mark Hanley. If time allows, a third presentation, “Juice Jacking,” will be given by Jon Mazur. Guests welcome.
