‘42nd Street’ to be presented at Freeport Area High School

The Drama Department of Freeport Area High School will present the musical, “42nd Street,” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in the middle school auditorium, 629 S. Pike Road, Buffalo Township.

Alle-Kiski History Center to present video program

The Allegheny-Kiski History Center will present video excerpts from “Duty, Courage, Honor – Southwestern Pennsylvania Goes to War,” at 1 p.m. Thursday at the center, 224 E. Seventh Ave.

Veterans from the Alle-Kiski Valley who served from the 1940s to 1970s were interviewed on camera and shared their memories.

Donations will be accepted. To be considered for inclusion in future videos, call the center at 724-224-7666.


Free soup luncheon planned at Poke Run Church

Poke Run Presbyterian Church, Washington Township, will have a free soup luncheon at noon Wednesday at the church, 1091 Poke Run Church Road.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

March 21: The Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania will sponsor a program on maple sugaring from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve, 614 Dorseyville Road. A pancake brunch will be served every half hour. Last seating for the brunch will be at 1 p.m. and afterward a naturalist will lead a walk through the history of maple sugaring. Rain or shine. Wednesday: Oakmont Carnegie Library will host a monthly Cult Animated Movie Night at 6 p.m. at the library, Allegheny River Blvd. The event will showcase lesser known animated movies that are not produced by Disney, Dreamworks or Studio Ghibli.
