Tarentum church collecting used mobility aides
Central Presbyterian Church, Tarentum, is collecting canes, crutches, walkers, shower chairs, incontinence supplies and manual wheelchairs to be donated to Global Links, a charity that works to redirect still-useful materials away from landfills to support public health programs in targeted communities throughout the Western Hemisphere.
Items can be brought Mondays through Saturdays through June 30 to the church, 305 Allegheny St. For details, contact the church at 724-224-9220 or email centralpresoffice@verizon.net.

Motorcycle ride to raise funds for cancer patients
Change for Cancer and the Protectors of Phoenix will host a ride fundraiser June 27 beginning at Woodpeckers Pub and Grub, 3500 Seventh St. Road, Upper Burrell.
Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and kickstands up will be at noon. The ride route will be to Coolwater Saloon, the Bonfire, Extra Innings and ending at Mogie’s Pub, where there will be a basket auction, 50/50 raffles and food.
Cost is $20 for a rider and $10 per passenger, and include an event t-shirt. Registration deadline is June 11.
