Free Pot Love luncheon planned Saturday

Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church free takeout monthly Pot Love Dinner will begin at noon Saturday at the church, 271 Main St., Leechburg.

Reservations are required by noon Friday. One dinner per family member limit. Those with reservations will be served first. For reservations, call 724-845-1901 or email church@crcpc.org. Line-up will be outside and social distancing must be observed. Everyone is welcome.


Free clothing offered at Evangel Heights Church

A free clothing giveaway will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Evangel Heights Church, 120 Beale Road, Buffalo Township.

Clothing in sizes for infants, children, juniors and adults will be available.


Appointments available for free car seat safety checks

State Sen. Lindsey M. Williams and the Pennsylvania State Police will offer free car seat safety checks from 10 a.m. to noon May 15 by appointment at 1826 Union Ave., Natrona Heights, Harrison.

A state trooper will work with you one-on-one to help install your child’s car seat or double check that it is properly fitted in your vehicle.

Produce, personal care items to be distributed in Harrison

Building Block of Natrona will host its free Veggies for All and Cosmetics Closet outreach for residents in need at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 28 Garfield St., Natrona, Harrison.

Patrons should not arrive before 12:45 p.m. Free produce, and personal care and hygiene products will be distributed until supplies run out.

Extra hygiene steps will be taken. Income verification is not required, and everyone is welcome. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.

Gilpin

Today: Gilpin Volunteer Fire Department will host bingo at 7:15 p.m. at the firehall, 113 Firehall Road.

Harrison 

Friday: Natrona Heights Veterans of Foreign Wars will have bingo at 7 p.m. at the post, 894 Veterans Lane. Doors open at 6 p.m., and there will be specials, a 50/50 raffle and final game jackpot.

Saturday: A free clothing and toy distribution will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Word of Faith Christian Fellowship, 42 Chestnut St., Natrona. Incontinence diapers in all sizes will be available. Masks and social distancing required.

Saturday: Community Library of Allegheny Valley will offer a free gardening program, “Tomatomania,” with garden writer Jessica Damiano at 11 a.m. online at Zoom.us. June 11: St. Joseph High School is conducting a $20,000 Super Raffle. Cost: $100 per ticket. Prizes include a $20,000 grand prize, three $1,000 runner-up prizes. Winner need not be present. Only 500 tickets will be sold. Tickets: 724-226-7877. Proceeds help to keep tuition affordable for students at the school.

Kiski Township

May 20: Kiski Township Volunteer Fire Department is accepting orders for a Marianna’s Hoagie and Pizza sale. Orders and payment are due Wednesday. Delivery will be May 20. Hoagies are 14 inches and varieties are Italian, ham and Swiss, turkey, All-American, roast beef, smoked ham and cheddar, traditional, three cheese and ham club. May 28: Kiski Township Volunteer Fire Department is accepting orders for pies, rolls and snails from The Pie Shoppe in Laughlintown. Varieties: chocolate meringue, coconut meringue, lemon meringue, apple, dutch apple, blackberry, wild blueberry, razzleberry, cherry, peach, raisin, bumbleberry and strawberry rhubarb, all $9.50; pumpkin rolls and cinnamon rolls, $7 for six; and snails, $7 per dozen.
