Play to highlight history of Vandergrift

The Casino Theater in Vandergrift is seeking adults to audition for a two-act plan, “Vandergrift,” that will be performed in early August at the theater.

The play spans several decades and gives the audience a look back at the history of Vandergrift from the viewpoint of the founder of the town, George McMurtry and Ida Tarbell. There will be no singing or dancing, just acting and dialogue.

Burrell HS musicians to perform outdoor concert

The Burrell High School Music Department will present an outdoor concert at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the high school stadium featuring the high school bands and choirs.

Those attending must follow district social distancing and masking policies. Rain dates are Wednesday and Thursday. This concert will not be live streamed.

East Vandergrift

June 20: Our Lady, Queen of Peace Parish is selling raffle tickets for whole pig raffle. The winner will receive a whole pig, a 20-cubic foot freezer, a $200 gift card to Locust Grove Country Shop, a $200 gift card to Rukas Beverage and a $100 gift card to the Vandergrift Fox’s Pizza Den.
