Free picnic planned Saturday by Fun and Freedom

Fun and Freedom will sponsor a free Picnic in the Park from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday in Natrona Park, River Avenue, Harrison.

Riverview Relay for Life to raise funds for American Cancer Society

The Riverview Relay for Life will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday in Riverside Park in Oakmont.

There will be entertainment, food trucks, crafters, vendors, a DJ, children’s activities, raffles and a 50-50. The luminaria ceremony will be at 8 p.m.

Friday: A free shredding event will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Allegheny Township municipal building, 136 Community Building Road. Residents can bring three bags or boxes of personal documents per household. Books, magazines and items in metal binding materials other than staples will not be accepted. No businesses please. Saturday: St. James Parish will sponsor a Super Patriotic Bingo at 7 p.m. in the parish activity center, 109 Owens View Drive. Apollo/East Vandergrift 

June 12: St. James and Our Lady, Queen of Peace parishes will sponsor a bus trip to Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. The bus will leave at 9 a.m. from the St. James parking lot, 109 Owens View Drive. Indiana Township

Saturday: A touch-a-truck will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Emmerling Community Park. Food trucks will be onsite. Additional parking will be available at the municipal ball field on Route 910 and a shuttle will be available.

Jefferson 

Today: Bingo will be at 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion, 754 N. Pike Road. Doors open at 5 p.m. The kitchen will be open. Proceeds benefit post and auxiliary projects.

Kiski Township  

Saturday : Kiski Township Volunteer Fire Department will host a spring bingo at 7 p.m. at the firehall, 1037 Route 56. Proceeds will benefit the Back to School Carnival planned for Aug. 24. Doors open at 6 p.m. Cost: $25, includes six regular games that pay $50; three specials that pay $100; and a $1,000 must-go jackpot. The kitchen will be open. Saturday : The 15th annual Bowl for the Cure to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation, a nonprofit that raises funds for those who are diagnosed with breast cancer and survivors, will be at 9 a.m. at Nesbit’s Lanes, 3051 Leechburg Road. Washington Township

Saturday: A free movie night will begin at 8 p.m. in Kunkle Park. The featured film will be “Wonka,” rated PG. Bring a blanket or chair. Free water and popcorn will be available. Sponsored by the township recreation committee and Washington-Bell Lions Club.

West Deer

Saturday: Angel Blue and the Prophets will be featured from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Owls Club, 725 Little Deer Creek Road, Russellton. Public welcome. Cover charge: $10; members, free.

West Leechburg 

Today and Friday: West Leechburg Crime Watch will accept donations of gently used clothing, books, housewares and furniture for their upcoming trash to treasure sale from 4 to 9 p.m. today and noon to 6 p.m. Friday at the firemen’s recreation hall, 1116 Gosser St. No child safety seats, appliances with Freon, televisions, mattresses, box springs or medical equipment will be accepted. The sale will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Winfield

Thursday: The Matrona Family Resource Center at Cabot Church, 707 Winfield Road, will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. New and gently used clothing is sizes preemie through 10/12 will be available, as well as strollers, car seats, toys and more.
