Free food distribution set Saturday in Lower Burrell
Burrell Community Church, Lower Burrell, will host a free drive-thru food distribution from 10 a.m. to noon while supplies last in the parking lot in front of the church in Hill Crest Shopping Center, Leechburg Road.
Recipients should not come early and must remain in their vehicle. Each vehicle will receive one box of food that contains meat, dairy, fruit, vegetable and milk. There are no income restrictions.
The event is sponsored by the church, Compassion Network, 412 Food Rescue, CityServe and USDA Farmers to Families.
Golf outing to benefit Leechburg Rotary Club projects
Leechburg Rotary Club will host its 15th annual memorial golf outing June 18 at Hill Crest Country Club, Lower Burrell.
The shotgun start will be at 10 a.m. Cost is $100 per golfer and includes continental breakfast, a gift bag, snack at the turn, buffet dinner and a door prize ticket. Non-golfer dinner guest tickets are $25. Sponsorship opportunities are available.

Highlands School District
The Highlands School District annual picnic will be June 19 at Kennywood Park in West Mifflin.
For tickets, visit kennywood.com/highlands. Cost is $29 plus a $3 processing fee and taxes for a FunDay ticket. There will no in-person sales at the schools.
St. Joseph High School
St. Joseph High School in Harrison will offer three summer camps for children in June. Dates and times are:
• June 14 to 18: boys and girls basketball for children in third through eighth grade. Grades three to five will meet in the morning and sixth through eighth in the afternoon. Cost: $100.
• June 14 to 18: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., material science for children in fifth through eighth grade. Cost: $100
• June 21 to 25: 9 a.m. to noon, art camp for children in fourth through eighth grade. Cost: $50

Head Start
Early Learning Connections Head Start program is accepting applications for children ages 3 and 4 and families for for sites in Armstrong County for the 2021-2022 school year .
Head Start is a free comprehensive child development program that serves low-income families and their children. Families are eligible if they meet income guidelines, have children in foster care, the family is experiencing loss of residency, receives TANF benefits or a family member receives Supplemental Security income.
Centers are located in Apollo, Ford City, Dayton, Kittanning, Rural Valley and South Buffalo. Programming is available in classroom and online.
