Lost Boys Band to open Tarentum concert series
Tarentum Summer Concert Series will open the season with the Lost Boys band at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Carl J. Magnetta Jr. Memorial Amphitheater in Riverview Memorial Park.
Non-perishable food items will be collected for the Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank in honor of fallen Brackenridge Police Chief Justin McIntire and Tarentum Officer Jordan Schrecengost.
The Snack Shack opens at 6 p.m. The concerts are sponsored by Tarentum Recreation Board.
Food distribution scheduled at Lernerville Speedway
Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank will host a drive-through food distribution for anyone in need from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lernerville Speedway, 313 N. Pike Road, Buffalo Township.
Reservations are not required. A short registration process will be done onsite. Each household will need to complete an annual self-declaration of need form to receive food.
Guests should remain in their vehicles and open their door or trunk and will be served on a first come, first served basis.
Spring bird hike planned in Harrison Hills Park
Friends of Harrison Hills Park will sponsor a spring Bird Hike from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. May 27 at Harrison Hills Park.
Join birder and photographer Dave Brooke for a hike through the park and learn about the migrant and resident birds in the park. Meet in the Environmental Center parking lot, bring binoculars and wear hiking boots or shoes. No pets please.

May 27: St. James Parish will sponsor a Super Patriotic Bingo at 7 p.m. in the parish activity center, 109 Owens View Drive. Doors open at 5 p.m. Cost: $30, includes bingo supplies, food and drinks. Oct. 22: New Kensington Moose is accepting table reservations for a fall craft and vendor show planned for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the lodge, 499 Reimer St. Spaces limited to one representative from each company on a first come, first served basis.
