Patriotic bingo scheduled over holiday weekend

St. James Parish in Apollo will sponsor a Super Patriotic Bingo at 7 p.m. Saturday in the parish activity center, 109 Owens View Drive.

Doors open at 5 p.m. Cost is $30, and includes bingo supplies, food and drinks. Those attending must be at least 21.

There will be instant tickets, a basket raffle and a $1,500 cover-all jackpot game. Players are encouraged to wear red, white and blue. For tickets, call Linda at 724-882-8776.

Wednesday: Apollo Hose Co. No. 2 will host bingo at 7 p.m. at the firehall, 325 N. Fourth St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. There will be specials and wish jars. Details: 724-478-4831.

Today: St. Vladimir Church, 1610 Kenneth Ave., will sponsor a bingo night. Doors open at 6 p.m. There is a $1,000 jackpot game with a $500 consolation prize. Pierogi, snacks, drinks, daubers and extra packages will be sold. Admission: $25.

Brackenridge

Wednesday: Al-Anon will meet at 8 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 847 10th Ave. The group offers help and hope for families and friends of alcoholics.

Buffalo Township

Wednesday: Herbal Thymes Club invites the public to its free monthly program at 7 p.m. at Zion United Methodist Church, 438 Bear Creek Road. Dave and Lori Kwasnick, owners of the Bird Watchers Store in Slipper Rock will present a program about gardening for birds. Details: herbalthymesclub.org.

Cranberry 

Thursday : Buffalo Elementary School PTO will host a spirit night from 4 to 8 p.m. at Urban Air Cranberry trampoline and adventure park, 351 American Way. Cost: $23.99, does not include air socks. Freeport

Monday and Wednesday: The Thrift Store Clothing Ministry at Freeport United Methodist Church, 211 Fourth St., will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays. All items are free, but donations will be accepted. Items available include clothing of all sizes, bedding and window items. Donations of clothing, shoes and boots welcome. Donations must be laundered and free from smoke and pet hair. Handicap accessible. Details: 724-295-3095.

Harrison

Wednesday: Faith Lutheran Church, 1500 Broadview Blvd., will host a Becky’s Closet community clothing store from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. Clothing available at very low cost. Donations welcome during this time.

Wednesday: A program about scams and fraud awareness for senior citizens will be at 1 p.m. at Community Library of Allegheny Valley, 1522 Broadview Blvd. Reservations required. Reservations: 724-226-3491 or alleghenyvalleylibrary.org.

Wednesday: Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank will be open from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at 1913 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights. Wednesday: The Agape Thrift Shop at Grace United Methodist Church, 1333 Freeport Road, will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Clean summer clothing in all sizes is needed. No housewares or bedding please due to lack of space. Bring donations on Wednesday or leave them on the front porch. Do not place donations in the blue bins behind the church.

Leechburg 

June 10: Leechburg Volunteer Fire Company is accepting reservations for yard sale spaces in the firehall parking lot during the community yard sale event. Cost: $25. Reservations: Melissa, 724-332-9090.

Lower Burrell 

Wednesday: There will be free DJ Trivia at 7 p.m. at the Moose, 499 Reimer St. Members and qualified guests welcome.

Oct. 22: New Kensington Moose is accepting table reservations for a fall craft and vendor show planned for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the lodge, 499 Reimer St. Spaces limited to one representative from each company on a first come, first served basis. New Kensington

Items available include clothing for all members of the family, shoes and linens. First-time customers receive 15 free items. Summer clothing donations welcome during business hours.

Oakmont

Tarentum

Wednesday: Alle-Kiski Valley Heritage Museum will sponsor a game night from 6 to 8 p.m. at the museum, 224 E. Seventh Ave. Games will be available or bring your own. Wednesday: Vandergrift Public Library will host an Anime Club for children in fifth through 10th grade from 6 to 7 p.m. at the library, 128C Washington Ave. No reservations required; just drop in.

May 31: Vandergrift Public Library is selling tickets for a basket raffle. The drawing for the seven-basket raffle will be at 1 p.m. May 31. Cost: five tickets, $3; 10 for $5; 15 for $10; and 25 for $15. Cash, check, Venmo and PayPal accepted. Tickets: stop in at the library, 128C Washington Ave.
