Boaters bash planned July 10 in New Kensington

Lighthouse Marina, New Kensington, will host a Rockin’ For Lockin’ Boaters Bash from 1 to 10 p.m. July 10 at the marina, 799 Industrial Blvd.

There will be performances by Curtis and the Shakers, Heidi and the Hellcats, 13 Stories and Glitz; food trucks, raffles and a corn hole tournament.

Reservations are being accepted boat docking for the nights of July 9 and 10. Cost is $20 per night and no electric or water is available. For tickets and docking reservations, visit alleghenyriverdevelopment.org/rockin-for-lockin.


Salvation Army free lunch distribution planned Thursday

The Allegheny Valley Salvation Army and Community Center in Brackenridge offers free grab and go lunches from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays in parking lot at the center, 917 Brackenridge Ave.


Hold the Phone!

The Coffee With A Cop event planned by Lower Burrell Police Department will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at City Hall, 2800 Bethel St.

The event, to encourage positive interaction and meaningful dialogue between law enforcement officers and the public they serve, will be outside. Social distancing will be observed.

Thursday: Bingo will be hosted by the American Legion at 7:15 p.m. at the post, 845 First Ave. Face masks and social distancing required. The kitchen will be closed.

East Vandergrift 

June 20: Our Lady, Queen of Peace Parish is selling raffle tickets for whole pig raffle. The winner will receive a whole pig, a 20-cubic foot freezer, a $200 gift card to Locust Grove Country Shop, a $200 gift card to Rukas Beverage and a $100 gift card to the Vandergrift Fox’s Pizza Den. The winning number will be the 7 p.m. June 20 Pa. Daily Pick 3 number. Tickets are $10 for two numbers. Proceeds will benefit the parish operating budget. Harrison  

June 11: St. Joseph High School is conducting a $20,000 Super Raffle. Cost: $100 per ticket. Prizes include a $20,000 grand prize, three $1,000 runner-up prizes. Winner need not be present. Only 500 tickets will be sold. Tickets: 724-226-7877. Proceeds help to keep tuition affordable for students at the school.

Leechburg  

Monday: Tickets are on sale for a Memorial Day Lottery Scratch-off Ticket Raffle to benefit Leechburg Public Library. Winner receives one roll of $20 and one roll of $10 scratch-off tickets. New Kensington

Thursday: Knead Community Café in New Kensington will hand out free grab-and-go dinners from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the café, 1011 Barnes St. This week’s meals are sponsored by an anonymous donor. Those picking up meals are reminded to observe social distancing while waiting in line.
