Freeport golf outing to benefit library, scholarships
The Freeport College Club will host a golf scramble June 24 at Birdsfoot Golf Club, 225 Furnace Run Road, South Buffalo.
The event will be a 4-man scramble and a shotgun start will be at 2 p.m. Cost is $95 per golfer and includes cart, hot dog lunch, drinks and catered dinner. There will be skill games and raffles. Non-golfers are welcome to attend the dinner for $25; 12 and younger, $10.

Free seminar to discuss spotted lanternfly
Penn State Extension will host a free seminar about the invasive spotted lanternfly from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. June 9 at the Boyce Park Four Season Lodge, 901 Centerview Drive, Plum.
Speaker Sandy Feather will share the latest research on the impact of these insects, their management and the steps being taken to control their spread.

Lower Burrell Farmers Market to open season at new location
The Lower Burrell Farmers Market will begin the season from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at its new location in the parking lot at Bon Air Elementary School, 3260 Leechburg Road.
There will be free food and children’s crafts, music and demonstrations by Penn State Master Gardeners.
