Rockin’ Roosevelt concert to raise funds for Arnold park

New Ken/Arnold Social in the Park will sponsor the annual Rockin’ Roosevelt benefit concert from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Roosevelt Park in Arnold. Gates at Rankin and Drey streets will open at 11:30 a.m.

Acts scheduled to appear include Sunday Complex, Miss Freddye’s Blues Band, Big House Pete, Elias Khouri, Curtis & the Shakerz, Missing Link, Jerry Jefferson, Dan Hartman, Noble Hops, Chip and the Charge Ups and Heidi and the Hellcats.

There will be food vendors and a 50/50 raffle. Admission is $5 per person. Rain or shine. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. There will be food for sale and a 50-50. Proceeds will be used for improvements in Roosevelt Park. Visit New Ken Arnold Social in the Park on Facebook for band set times.


Leechburg Museum to open for the season

The Leechburg Area Museum and Historical Society, 118 First St., Leechburg, will open for the summer on Wednesdays.

Hours will be noon to 3 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Wednesday: Al-Anon will meet at 8 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 847 10th Ave. The group offers help and hope for families and friends of alcoholics.

Buffalo Township

Wednesday: Sarver Momco will meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Christ Community Fellowship, 160 Singleton Road. This is a non-denominational faith-based group for mothers of children in 12th grade and younger and those who are expecting. Reservations required. Items available include clothing of all sizes, bedding and window items. Donations of clothing, shoes and boots welcome; must be laundered and free from smoke and pet hair. Wheelchair accessible. June 8: Freeport Area Library Association will host an English tea from 1 to 3 p.m. at the library, 528 Market St. The menu will include finger sandwiches, a variety of teas, scones with clotted cream and jam and pastries. June 13: A car show will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Lane, as part of the Leechburg 175th anniversary celebration. Wednesday: Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank will be open from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at 1913 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights. Food bank participants can receive food allotments twice per month. Those who are not yet registered should come from 3 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
