Volunteers needed for Kick It at Kotecki concert

Lower Burrell Parks Commission is looking for people to help out at the July 12 concert planned in the city’s Kotecki Park.

Volunteers are needed for set up, parking, shuttles, the entrance gate, 50-50 raffles and tear down.

Trivia games planned in Tarentum park

Tarentum Recreation Board will host Trivia with Shawn at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Carl J. Magnetta Amphitheater on First Avenue.

The Snack Shack will open at 6 p.m.


Summer concert series to feature the Tina Daniels Band

The free Thunder Thursdays Summer Music Series will feature the Tina Daniels Band at 7 p.m. the Syria Shrine Center, 1877 Shriners Way, Harmar, rain or shine.

Gates open at 6 p.m. There is free parking and food and beverages will be sold. No tailgating or outside food or drinks are permitted. The series is sponsored by Miller Lite, Band Together Pittsburgh, Moondog’s and the Pittsburgh Shrine Center.


Super raffle to aid St. Joseph HS

St. Joseph High School is conducting a $20,000 super raffle to help to keep tuition affordable for students at the school.

Tickets are $100 each. Prizes include a $20,000 grand prize and three $1,000 runner-up prizes. The drawing will be at the June 6 Tom Kaniecki Spartan Scramble golf tournament. Thursday: The Allegheny Valley Salvation Army and Community Center will distribute free grab-and-go lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the center parking lot, 917 Brackenridge Ave. Free grocery items from Walmart and Aldi will be available. Everyone is welcome.

Wednesday: Sarver Momco will meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Christ Community Fellowship, 160 Singleton Road. This is a non-denominational faith-based group for mothers of children in 12th grade and younger and those who are expecting. Reservations required. East Vandergrift

Check-in will begin at 3 p.m. There will be food, music and a 50-50. Legacy awards will be awarded based on historic Leechburg car dealerships. Cost: $10 in advance; $15, at the gate.
