Free admission to historical sites offered by Springdale Library
Springdale Free Public Library is offering library card holders free admission to nine historical sites in western Pennsylvania.
The Experience Kit will provide free admission for up to four people per visit. Kits include virtual access to educational support materials and itinerary suggestions tailored for each site. Anyone who visits at least five sites by Oct. 1 can entered to win one of six raffle prizes.
Kits can be checked out for six days, Wednesdays to Tuesdays. Kits are not renewable and must be returned by 5 p.m. Tuesdays.
Sites included in the kits are Senator John Heinz History Center, Fort Pitt Museum, Lincoln Highway Experience Museum, McKeesport Regional History and Heritage Center, Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village, Pennsylvania Trolley Museum, Quecreek Mine Rescue Site, William Vicary Mansion and the Zelienople Historical Society’s Passavant House.

Car seat checks planned in Armstrong County
The Pennsylvania State Police will offer free car seat safety checks by appointment from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 5 at West Hills Intermediate School, 175 Heritage Park Drive, East Franklin.
A car seat technician will work with you one-on-one to help install your child’s car seat or double check that it is properly fitted in your vehicle. Please bring the vehicle’s owner’s manual and the car seat instruction booklet. Face masks required.
