Junior drama camp planned June 19 to 23
The Freeport Theatre Festival will sponsor a Junior Drama Camp for children age 8 to 12 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 19 to 23 on the festival grounds at the Steele Family Farm in Allegheny Township, off Route 356, two miles southeast of Freeport.
Cost is $150 and scholarships are available. Children will develop basic theatrical skills and be part of a production. No experience is necessary.

Tickets on sale for Apollo history program
Apollo Area Historical Society will host History Alive!, a performance of notable citizens from Apollo’s past with pizza and refreshments at 5 p.m. June 17 at Drake Log Cabin, Williams Alley, Apollo.

Wednesday: The Thrift Store Clothing Ministry at Freeport United Methodist Church, 211 Fourth St., will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. All items are free, but donations will be accepted. Items available include clothing of all sizes, bedding and window items. Donations of clothing, shoes and boots welcome. Donations must be laundered and free from smoke and pet hair. Wednesday: Faith Lutheran Church, 1500 Broadview Blvd., will host a Becky’s Closet community clothing store from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. Clothing available at very low cost. Donations welcome during this time.
Wednesday: Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank will be open from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at 1913 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights. Food bank participants can receive food allotments twice per month. Those who are not yet registered should come from 3 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Details and alternate times: 724-226-0606, ext. 10.
Wednesday: The Agape Thrift Shop at Grace United Methodist Church, 1333 Freeport Road, will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Clean summer clothing in all sizes is needed. No housewares or bedding please due to lack of space. Bring donations on Wednesday or leave them on the front porch. Do not place donations in the blue bins behind the church.
Kiski Township
Saturday: Kiski Township Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a bike show from 1 to 5 p.m. at the firehall, 1037 Route 56. Registration will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Awards will be given for first and second place in the following categories: custom, trike/3-wheeler, bobber/chopper, bagger, softtail, best in show and open.
