Strawberry festival planned in Cheswick

The annual Cheswick Strawberry Festival will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the borough Rachel Carson Park.

There will be a DJ, a petting zoo, children’s activities, a basket raffle, craft vendors and strawberry shortcakes.

Avonmore   

Saturday : A bingo to benefit Avonmore Public Library will be at 1 p.m. at the Avonmore Senior Center, 458 Railroad Ave. Doors open at 11 a.m. and early birds will be at 12:45 p.m. Cost: before Tuesday, $20; at the door, $25. There will be a must-go jackpot game that will start at $200, a 50-50 raffle and silent auction. Food will be sold. Tickets: 724-388-2123.

East Vandergrift

June 13: Our Lady, Queen of Peace Parish is selling tickets for a spring cash lottery raffle. June 13: A car show will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Lane, as part of the Leechburg 175th anniversary celebration. Check-in will begin at 3 p.m. There will be food, music and a 50-50. Legacy awards will be awarded based on historic Leechburg car dealerships. Cost: $10 in advance; $15, at the gate. Harrison

June 14: Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley is accepting donations for its yard sale. Donations can be dropped from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays at the shelter, 730 Church St. No clothing please.

Oakmont 

Through Saturday: The works of members of the Allegheny Valley League of Artists will be exhibited on the lower level of Oakmont Carnegie Library, 700 Allegheny River Blvd.

Saturday : The Riverview Relay for Life will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Riverside Park. There will be entertainment, food trucks, a DJ, a visit from the Pirate Parrot, raffles and a 50-50. Parks Township

Sunday: The Allegheny chapter of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors will meet from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Alle-Kiski Valley Historical Society, 224 E. Seventh Ave. The first eight attendees will have an opportunity to build and take home a free quartz clock. Bring an old clock or watch and members will be available to questions. Public welcome.

Sunday: First Baptist Church of Tarentum will distribute free detergent, bleach and scented beads to anyone in need after the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at the church, 410 E. Third Ave.

Washington Township 

Today: Washington Township Volunteer Fire Company will have bingo at 7 p.m. at the firehall, 4078 Route 66. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The kitchen will open and card sales start at 6 p.m. Free coffee. Players must be at least 18 or accompanied by an adult.

West Deer

June 6: West Deer Parks and Recreation Board will host a movies in the park night at dusk in the Bairdford Park pavilion. Reservations required today. Reservations: parksandrecreation@westdeertownship.com.
