Cub Scouts to collect items for homeless veterans

Cub Scout Packs 137 and 554 are participating in the Homeless Heroes Stocking Project that will supply stockings to 2,500 local homeless veterans.

Donations for the project will be accepted from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 20 at Springdale United Presbyterian Church, 859 Pittsburgh St., Springdale. Items needed include shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush holders, wash cloths, soap, plastic soap holders, socks, gloves and $10 gift cards to Giant Eagle or Walmart. Harrison

Saturday: The Diaper Pantry at Christ Our Hope Anglican Church will distribute diapers from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 926 Painter Ave., and at Sheldon Park, both in Natrona Heights. Recipients must drive up and remain in their vehicles. First-time recipients must provide their own identification, the child’s birth certificate and a current WIC or SNAP card.

Saturday: A spaghetti dinner will be from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 894 Veterans Lane. Menu: spaghetti, salad, roll and dessert. Dine in or takeout. Leechburg   

Saturday: Leechburg Rotary Club will host a pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Cross Roads Community Presbyterian Church, 271 Main St. There will be a silent auction. Proceeds will be donated to Lower Kiski Ambulance Service and help to fund Rotary scholarships. Washington Township

West Deer

Through Nov. 17: Deer Lakes Middle School Student Council is conducting a canned goods collection to benefit the West Deer Food Bank. Donations can be dropped off in the front lobby of the school.
