East Deer church collecting donations for Thanksgiving baskets

East Union Presbyterian Church will distribute 45 Thanksgiving baskets filled with all of the traditional fixings to families in need in West Deer.

The cost of each basket is expected to be $56. Monetary donations are being accepted. To contribute, visit EastUnionChurch.org or mail a check payable to the church to 292 East Union Road, Cheswick PA 15024. Please write “T-basket” on the memo line of the check.

Allegheny Valley Hospital Auxiliary to hold jewelry sale

Allegheny Valley Hospital Auxiliary will host a Linda Litterio jewelry sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in the hospital lobby, 1301 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights.

Bracelets and earrings will sold for $5 or five for $20 and necklaces for $10. Cash will be accepted. Proceeds benefit auxiliary-sponsored hospital projects.

Free soup luncheon planned in Washington Township

Poke Run Presbyterian Church, Washington Township, will have a free soup luncheon at noon Wednesday at the church, 1091 Poke Run Church Road.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

Wednesday: Allegheny Valley League of Artists will meet at 6:15 p.m. at the Lower Burrell location of Peoples Library, 3052 Wachter St. David Howard of Uncle Dave’s Books and Art Studio will be the guest speaker. Public welcome.

Wednesday: East Union Presbyterian Church will have a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church, 292 East Union Road. Menu: spaghetti, choice of five sauces, salad bar, rolls and dessert. Donations will be accepted. Details: 724-265-1381
