Basket bingo event to benefit Penn State THON

Students at Penn State New Kensington, Upper Burrell, will sponsor a basket bingo at 6 p.m. Thursday in the campus conference center, 3550 Seventh Street Road.

Doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $15 and include admission and two bingo tickets. Additional tickets will be sold. Baskets have at least a $30 value. Cash only will be accepted. Players must be at least 18.

Proceeds will benefit THON, the student-run project committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer.

Lights Up Night set Thursday at Tarentum Night Market

Tarentum Night Market will celebrate Lights Up Night from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday along downtown streets.

There will be an ice sculptor at 5 p.m., the light up will be at 6 p.m. and the Highlands Middle School Choir will perform from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Tarentum Recreation Committee and the Tarentum Night Market Committee.
