NK Salvation Army accepting donations for family meal boxes

The Salvation Army in New Kensington is collecting nonperishable food items to be included in family meal boxes for the holidays.

Items most needed include salad dressings, Jello, boxes of hot chocolate, beets, kidney and black beans, cranberry sauce, stuffing, bread crumbs, gravy, cake mix and icing, soups and chicken broth. Monetary donations and gift cards for food stores are also welcome. Checks should be made out to the Salvation Army – New Kensington.

Donations can be taken from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays to the center, 255 Third St. For questions, call 724-335-7221.
