New Kensington invites groups to decorate holiday wreaths

The New Kensington Recreation Commission is seeking local city businesses, churches and organizations to decorate holiday wreaths for display in the downtown corridor during the holiday season.

Wreaths are available now at city hall and must be returned by Nov. 18. Decorations should be weather resistant and be secured tightly to the wreath. Wreaths will be judged after the Dec. 3 holiday parade.

Card and game party planned Nov. 12 in Jefferson

GFWC Saxonburg District Woman’s Club will sponsor a card and game party at noon Nov. 12 at the American Legion, 754 N. Pike Road, Jefferson Township.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. There will be a sandwich and salad luncheon and basket raffle. Reservations are being accepted, but walk-ins are welcome. Cost is $9. For reservations, call 724-713-7407. Proceeds will benefit local charities and organizations.
