Valley HS to present fall play
The Valley High School Drama Club will present the play “These Shining Lives” at 7 p.m. today through Saturday in the high school auditorium in New Kensington.
The story revolves around the real-life circumstances of women in the 1920s who worked in a watch factory painting watch faces with glowing, radium-rich paint. All seats are general admission and cost $5.
Free smoke alarms available to Natrona homes
Free smoke alarms will be installed from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday in homes in Natrona, Harrison.
Volunteers are needed to help with the project and will meet at 1 p.m. at the Harrison Municipal Building for a short training session. To register to have an alarm installed or to donate your time, call the Red Cross at 412-263-5278.
Leechburg to mark 175th anniversary celebration
The borough of Leechburg will celebrate its 175th anniversary next year and events will be the week of June 9, 2024.
Community organizations, churches and businesses as well as members of the community are encouraged to help plan the celebration.
A planning meeting will be at 6 p.m. Nov. 15 at First Lutheran Church, 358 Main St., Leechburg. Everyone is welcome.
