Vandergrift Police Department collecting donations

Vandergrift Police Department is conducting its Feed the Families Project through Friday.

Non-perishable food items and monetary contributions will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday at the borough building, 109 Grant Ave., in care of Officer Gray.

Five Forces collecting personal items for homeless veterans

Five Forces will collect items for the Homeless Heroes Stocking Project at 9 p.m. Saturday at Dizzy’s Place, 130 Market St., Leechburg.

There will be prizes for donating and music and karaoke with DJ Christina. Items in need include full-size shampoo, deodorant, wash cloths, soap, socks, gloves, razors, tooth paste, toothbrushes, plastic soap dishes and $10 gift cards to Walmart or Giant Eagle. Homeless Heroes Stocking Project works with the Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania to provide supply stockings for Christmas to the over 2,500 homeless veterans in our area.

Leechburg Area High School Drama Club plans talent show Friday

The Leechburg Area High School Drama Club Talent Show will be at 7 p.m. Friday in the high school auditorium, First Street, Leechburg.

The theme is, “Insterstellar Ball,” and those attending who dress in formal attire will have a chance to win two tickets to the spring musical production of, “Godspell.”

Admission is $5 and proceeds will help with production costs for the spring musical.

Vandergrift Holiday Night Market to open Thursday

Vandergrift Improvement Program will sponsor the Vandergrift Holiday Night Market from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Dec. 5 and 12 in the historic J. C. Penney building, 143 Grant Ave., Vandergrift.

There will be vendors and artisans, refreshments and music.

HOPE Center seeking umbrellas and journals

The Alle-Kiski HOPE Center is seeking donations of umbrellas and journals for the clients that it serves.

Donations can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at the center, 500 E. Eighth Ave., Tarentum. For details, call 724-224-1100.
