Butler Lions plan annual Christmas tree sale
The annual Christmas tree sale sponsored by the Butler Lions Club will begin Friday at the picnic shelter at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Butler.
Hours will be noon to 5 p.m. Friday. The sale schedule is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays, 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays and 5 to 7 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, while supplies last.

Voting continues in Harrison gingerbread house contest
Harrison Township Recreation Board is sponsoring a gingerbread house contest for township residents.
Members of the community can vote by donation for their favorite house and prizes will be award to the top three entries.
Houses will be on display until Dec. 3 and winners will be announced at 1 p.m. Dec. 3.
Tree lighting to open holiday season in Vandergrift
The Vandergrift Tree Lighting ceremony will be Friday in the downtown section of the borough.
Santa will make his way around town beginning at 5 p.m. in a firetruck and pass out candy to children. At 7 p.m. everyone will gather around the tree at Grant and Farragut avenues for the tree lighting.
There will be music, free photos with Santa, cookies and cocoa in the Vandergrift Market, 143 Grant Ave. Vendors will be open in the market from 4 to 9 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Vandergrift Improvement Program.
