Alle-Kiski HOPE Center collecting clothing and personal items
The Alle-Kiski HOPE Center is seeking donations of clothing and personal items for the clients that it serves.
Items most needed include new pajamas, slippers, socks, underwear for all sizes and genders, full-size shampoo and body wash, hair brushes, combs and Chapstick.
Donations can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at the center, 500 E. Eighth Ave., Tarentum. For details and alternate arrangements, call 724-224-1100.
Volunteers needed to serve as tax aides
Allegheny Valley Association of Churches and United Way of Allegheny County are looking for people to give their time as volunteer tax preparers.
Many of our neighbors don’t have access to affordable tax help, fall victim to rapid refund loans or are not aware of state and federal tax credits. Free training and certification are provided.

Tuesday: Leechburg Public Library will host a Thanksgiving party for children age 3 to 11 and their parents at 6 p.m. at the library, Siberian Avenue. There will be crafts, games and snacks.
Lower Burrell
Tuesday: Bethesda Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lower Burrell, will offer, “Prime Time for Seniors,” from 1 to 4 p.m. at the church, 3084 Leechburg Road. Anyone who is at least 55 years old is welcome to share conversation, a card game, puzzles and crafts. Details: 724-335-0559
