Alle-Kiski Kids Toy Drive donations being accepted

New, unwrapped toys are being accepted for the annual Alle-Kiski Kids Toy Drive through Dec. 12 in the vestibule of the Washington Township municipal building, 285 Pine Run Church Road.

Hospice seeking volunteer help

Monarch Hospice, Lower Burrell, is seeking volunteers to help with personal companionship, emotional support, pet therapy, sewing and knitting and as an administrative assistant.

Holiday kickoff event planned in West Leechburg

West Leechburg Crime Watch will sponsor a holiday kick-off event from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the borough park pavilion, 1015 Plazak St.

There will be hot cocoa and cookies, a craft to make an ornament for the community tree and carol singing. In case of inclement weather, the event will inside the borough building.

Dec. 23: Apollo Events Committee is seeking volunteers to help at the Hometown Christmas celebration set for 5 to 8 p.m. at Soldiers and Sailors Hall, 631 N. Winning numbers will be the first drawn Pennsylvania Daily Pick 3 numbers at noon and 7 p.m. on St. Nicholas Day, Dec. 6. Sunday: The Syria Shriners Band, Chanters, Highlanders and Stage Band will present a concert, Prelude to Christmas, at 3 p.m. in the Syria Shrine Ballroom, 1877 Shriners Way. Admission: $10, 12 and younger, free. Proceeds will be donated equally between Shriners Hospitals for Children and Syria Shriners Hospital Patient Transportation Fund. Harrison

Monday: Allegheny Valley Hospital Auxiliary will sell White Green Cloths from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Carlisle Corner of the hospital cafeteria, 1301 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights. The cloths are streak-free and spot-free. Cost: $5, cash only. Proceeds benefit auxiliary sponsored projects.

Jefferson
