Toys For Children drive to benefit Deer Lakes children
West Deer Police Department is sponsoring its 23rd annual Toys for Children drive to benefit children age 1 to 14 living in low-income households in the Deer Lakes School District.
New toys can be dropped off from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through Dec. 10 at the police department, 109 East Union Road. Members of Cub Scout Pack 965 dropped off bags at homes in the township and will return Saturday to collect donations.
Monetary donations can be sent to West Deer Toys for Children Christmas Fund, 109 East Union Road, Cheswick PA 15024. Money will be used to purchase additional toys, winter clothing and wrapping paper supplies.

Christmas Open House planned at Armstrong County museumA free Christmas Open House will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Armstrong County Historical Museum and Genealogical Society, 300 N. McKean St., Kittanning.
The McCain House will be decorated for Christmas and members of the 62d Infantry Living History Family will be dressed in Civil War period attire. Light refreshments will be served. Free parking will be available behind the museum via North Grant Street entrance.
Festival of Trees raffle supports hospital projectsAllegheny Valley Hospital Auxiliary is hosting its annual Festival of Trees raffle to benefit projects supporting the hospital.
Each hospital department decorates a tree to be raffled off and they are on display in the lobby. Tickets are 10 for $5 or 25 for $10 and may be purchased from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays in the lobby of the hospital, 1301 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights. Cash only, please. Winners receive a fully decorated tree.
The drawing will be at noon Dec. 19.
Oakmont Chistmas Home Tour plannedThe Oakmont Chamber of Commerce Christmas Home Tour will be from noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 8.
