Apollo-Ridge High to sponsor annual Senior Citizen Luncheon
The annual free Senior Citizen Luncheon at Apollo-Ridge High School will be Dec. 12 at the high school, Route 56, Kiski Township.
A concert featuring the school band and chorus will begin at 12:30 p.m. and lunch will be served at 1:15 p.m.
Senior citizens who reside in the school district are welcome. Reservations are required. For reservations, call Kelly Shoop at 724-478-600, ext. 1102 or email shoopk@apolloridge.com. The event is sponsored by the high school Student Council.
Santa needs help: You can ‘adopt’ senior for Christmas
Concordia Lutheran Ministries has again opened its Adopt-A-Resident Program to the community.
Individuals, businesses or congregations may call the facility of their choice to “adopt” a resident and give him or her Christmas gifts. Gift suggestions include a sweat suit, door wreath, stamps and stationery, digital clocks with large numbers, sugar-free candy, slippers and slipper socks and throws or blankets.

Vandergrift library taking orders for letters to Santa
Vandergrift Public Library will send your child a personalized letter from Santa Claus for a $5 donation to the library.
Order deadline is the second week of December. Stop in at the library, 128C Washington Ave., to see templates and place your order.
