Friends of Community Library conducting fundraiser
Friends of Community Library of Allegheny Valley are selling Places of the Heart pieces to benefit the library.
The collection features 12 miniature wooden replicas of key buildings from the Tarentum area such as Tarentum Train Station, Allegheny Valley Hospital, Manos Theater and Tarentum High School. Pajama and Book Project seeks donations
The Rotary Club of Leechburg and Interact Club of Leechburg Area High School are sponsoring the Pajama and Book Project collection through Dec. 14 in the Leechburg area.
Donations of new pajamas in all sizes, men’s sleep pants and new children’s books will be accepted at the following locations:
Quarato Hardware, Leechburg Florist, First Methodist Church and Voytex Electrical, all in Leechburg; and Hunt’s Hilltop Service, Forks Lutheran Church and Kalmar Motors, both in Gilpin.
Monetary donations may be sent to the Rotary Club of Leechburg, P.O. Box 163, Leechburg PA 15656. Pajamas and books will be sent to HAVIN, Children Youth and Family Services of Armstrong County, Life Services and the Mechling-Shakley Veterans Center.
Salvation Army free lunch distribution offered Thursday
The Allegheny Valley Salvation Army and Community Center in Brackenridge offers free grab and go lunches from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays in parking lot at the center, 917 Brackenridge Ave.
