Volunteers needed to help with tree planting in Harrison
Volunteers are needed Saturday to help with a tree planting project in Harrison Township.
Volunteers will gather at 8:30 a.m. at the Highlands Community Center for coffee and breakfast rolls and sign in. A planting demonstration with the TreeVitalize staff will be at 9 a.m. The project should finish up around noon and lunch will be served at the community center. Shovels, gloves, mulch and other supplies will be provided.

Spaghetti dinner to raise funds for service dog
A spaghetti dinner to benefit epilepsy patient 5-year-old Haley will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Nov. 17 at Oklahoma Volunteer Fire Hall, 171 Thorn St., Oklahoma Borough.
Money raised will be used to get a service dog to help alert an adult when she is having a seizure. Cost is $8, and children younger than 12, $5. For tickets, call or text Nathan at 724-393-7948.
Designer purse bingo planned Nov. 17 in Springdale
A designer purse bingo to benefit Feeding the Flock Ministries in Harmar will be at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 17 at Springdale Veterans Association, 1151 Pittsburgh St., Springdale.
Doors open at 1 p.m. There will be 15 regular games to win purses, specials, a basket raffle,, 50/50 raffle and cash bar. Bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.

Photography and jewelry sale planned at Allegheny Valley Hospital
Allegheny Valley Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a fine art photography sale featuring the best of Pittsburgh landmarks by Sergio Zlotnikov Photography from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday in the hospital cafeteria, 1301 Carlisle St., Harrison. His wife, Alla, will sell sterling silver jewelry with natural stones. Cash, credit cards and checks will be accepted. A portion of proceeds will benefit the auxiliary.
