Optimist Foundation to host holiday toy and gift party

Pittsburgh North Optimist Foundation will sponsor a holiday toy and gift party from 7 to 11 p.m. Dec. 10 at the RIDC Comfort Inn, 180 Gamma Drive, O’Hara.

Advance tickets are required. Entertainment will be by Scott, Rob and Gregg of the Clarks Acoustic. Tickets are $50 each and include appetizers, a buffet dinner, desserts and beer. There will be a cash bar and raffles.

A limited number of VIP tables of eight are available for $600 each. Each couple should bring at least one unwrapped toy or gift. Donations will be given to the Sharpsburg Family Worship Center for its Give A Gift program. For tickets, visit Pittsburghoptimist.com.

Turkey Trot to aid youth group

The Kiski Valley Turkey Trot 5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Walk to benefit Kiski Area Youth Network will be Thanksgiving, Nov. 24 at Kunkle Park, 985 Pine Run Church Road, Washington Township.

Serious and casual runners and walkers of all ages are welcome to participate. The 5K race will be digitally timed and begins at 9 a.m. The course is an out and back loop on a country road and begins and ends in Kunkle Park.
