Harrison church to offer holiday grief support session
Christ Our Hope Anglican Church, Harrison, will offer, “Surviving the Holidays,” at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 18 at the church, 926 Painter Ave., Natrona Heights. An online option is also available.
If you or someone you know is coping with the loss of a loved one, holidays and special events can be difficult.

Burtner House Restoration Society taking orders for Christmas ornaments
Burtner House Restoration Society is selling handcrafted Christmas tree ornaments to celebrate the 200th birthday of the homestead in Harrison.
Ornaments are brass with a gold finish and have an image of the house and Christmas tree with a bicentennial banner. Cost is $22 each plus $4.95 shipping and handling.

CCAC to host virtual open house
Community College of Allegheny County will host a virtual open house from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 14 online.
Prospective students and their families will be able to learn about the enrollment process, academic program options, student engagement opportunities and more.
Breakout sessions will discuss admissions, athletics, career services, counseling, financial aid, student life and more.

Hazardous, electronic waste collection set in Lower Burrell
Lower Burrell will conduct a hazardous and electronic waste collection from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the police department parking lot, 2800 Bethel St.
Items that will be accepted include paint, paint thinner, pesticides, car and household batteries, light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, pool chemicals, oil, electronic and Freon waste, televisions, computers and accessories, cell phones, air conditioning units, dehumidifiers and any other electronic with a cord, screen or circuit board.
Unacceptable items are explosives, ammunition, large appliances, pharmaceuticals, syringes, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, compressed gas, devices containing mercury and tires.
