New charity in Arnold accepting donations

The Speed Family Blessing Box and Pantry is seeking donations to stock the shelves at its new location, 1502 Fifth Ave., Arnold.

Items needed include milk, eggs, bread, cheese, crackers, paper towels, toilet paper, cat food, dog food, diapers, juice boxes and laundry pods.

Gift cards and checks can be mailed to 2108 Spooky Hollow Road, Lower Burrell PA 15068.

Salvation Army seeks Red Kettle volunteers

The Salvation Army New Kensington is seeking part-time and full-time paid workers and volunteers to help in the annual Red Kettle Campaign.

Required training and orientation will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the New Kensington center, 255 Third St.

For an application, call Laurie at 724-335-7221, ext. 106, or stop in from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the center. Funds raised support local programs.

Free monthly soup luncheon planned Wednesday

Poke Run Presbyterian Church, Washington Township, will host its free monthly Soup for the Soul luncheon at noon Wednesday at the church, 1091 Poke Run Church Road.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. The event is the second Wednesday of the month and runs through May. For details, call the church at 724-327-5563.
