Cash bash to benefit Kiski Area spring musical

The drama department at Kiski Area High School will present the Andrew Lloyd Weber musical “The Phantom of the Opera” March 20 to 23 at the high school.

A cash bash to help fund the production will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Nov. 18 at The Center on Franklin Avenue, 262 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift. Cost is $25 and includes entry into the drawings, a drink coupon and light refreshments. Food and adult beverages will be sold. Must be 21 to attend. Cash drawings will be every 20 minutes and there will be a basket raffle, pull tickets and a 50-50 raffle.

Annual Christmas for Vets event planned Dec. 9

Five Forces will host its eighth annual Christmas for Veterans event Dec. 9 at the Lower Burrell Veterans of Foreign Wars, 1601 Wildlife Lodge Road.

Doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served and there will be entertainment, drinks, raffles, merchandise and prizes. Attendees must show DD214 paperwork, current military ID or proper discharge paperwork. Tickets are free for veterans and current military. Guest tickets are $25 each, plus drinks.

Wednesday: The Thrift Store Clothing Ministry at Freeport United Methodist Church, 211 Fourth St., will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. All items are free, but donations will be accepted. Items available include clothing of all sizes, bedding and window items. Donations of clothing, shoes and boots welcome; must be laundered and free from smoke and pet hair. Wheelchair accessible. Wednesday: The Anime Club at Community Library of Allegheny Valley, 1522 Broadview Blvd., will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the library.
