Food drive planned Tuesday in Freeport
A community food drive to benefit Freeport Food Bank will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 323 Fifth St., Freeport.
Bring donations to the basement entrance of the church. Items needed most include canned goods, boxed foods, dry goods and personal care items. All donations should be unopened and not expired.
Nonprofit requesting donations for family meal bags
Community Hope Project Inc. is collecting money to assemble and distribute family meal bags to local families in need due to the government shutdown and disruption of SNAP benefits.
The project, Hope Feeds Families, is trying to raise $5,000 to provide a week’s worth of food and essentials to local households.

Drive-thru food distribution set Tuesday at Pittsburgh Mills
Allegheny Valley Association of Churches and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank will host a drive-thru food distribution for anyone in need from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in parking lot of the former JC Penney store at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills, Frazer.
Reservations are not required. Do not arrive before 4 p.m. Guests should remain in their vehicles and open their door or trunk and will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.
