Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank open Wednesday

The Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank will be open to anyone in need from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays at 1913 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, Harrison.

Recipients should pull into the center parking lot and food will be placed into their vehicle. Senior boxes are now being distributed Wednesdays instead of Thursdays. Those needing food who are not yet registered should come after 3 p.m. Wednesdays. Proof of income is no longer required.

Vandergrift outpatient center marks 10th anniversary

The Allegheny Valley Hospital Outpatient Care Center, 224 Longfellow St., Vandergrift, will celebrate its 10th anniversary from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday with a patient appreciation event.

Free meals and face masks available at Highlands Family Center

Highlands Family Center, Tarentum, will distribute free precooked meals from Eat N Park and fabric face masks from Hanes by appointment from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the center, 415 E. Fourth Ave.

Appointments are required. For an appointment, call the center at 724-224-9006 and leave a message. Call as soon as possible. Spots go quickly.


Deer Lakes High School Student Council seeks alumni photos

Deer Lakes High School Student Council plans to release a video to celebrate this year’s homecoming.

Alumni are encouraged to submit photos of their homecomings and videos discussing where they are now, what they have accomplished and their favorite high school memories. Former teachers are welcome to send in videos updating their activities.
