Stuffed pork chop dinner fundraiser to aid Knead Community Cafe

A harvest dinner fundraiser will be from noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 2 at Knead Community Café, 1011 Barnes St., New Kensington.

The menu will include stuffed pork chop, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, salad, roll and beverage for $15. A dinner of chicken fingers will be available for children 10 and younger for $7. Baked goods will be sold a la carte for dessert.

Tickets are available at kneadcommunitycafe.org/events/fall-harvest-dinner. Proceeds will benefit the café’s mission to feed anyone regardless of ability to pay.

NK Salvation Army offering holiday support

The New Kensington Salvation Army will accept applications in-person by appointment for assistance for holiday gifts for children 13 and younger and Project Bundle Up coats, boots, hats and gloves for children younger than 18 and seniors 62 and over at the center, 255 Third St.

Appointments are available Tuesday through Friday. Applications will be accepted on a first-come and most-need basis. Bring identification, proof of household income and residence, children’s birth certificates and three gift ideas for each child.

Allegheny Valley SD plans annual Senior Citizen Brunch

Reservations are being accepted for Allegheny Valley School District’s annual Senior Citizens Brunch planned for 10:30 a.m. Oct. 24 in the Springdale Jr.-Sr. High School cafeteria.

Residents 62 and older who live in the district are welcome. Reservations are required by Wednesday. To make a reservation, call 724-274-5300. Those attending are asked to park in the lot off of Colfax Street and enter by the cafeteria doors due to construction at the main entrance (Butler Road) side of the building.
