New Ken/Arnold Band Blast to raise funds for park upkeep
New Ken/Arnold Social in the Park will host a benefit concert, “Band Blast,” from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Park to raise funds for renovations and repairs to the park. Rain or shine.
Admission is $5. The event feature festival seating; bring lawn chairs and blankets. Gates open at 11:30 a.m.
Bands scheduled to appear include Dimwit, The Epics, The Rust Project, Risen To Save, Heidi and the Hellcats, Big House Pete, Rumble 13, Inflatable Space Station, Mojo, Miss Freddye’s Homecookin Band and Cosmic Attack Blues Band.

Deasy and Friends Fall Concert canceled
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the annual Deasy and Friends Fall Concert is canceled.
The concert is held annually at the Oaks Theater and benefits the Erica Ann Hower Educational Scholarship Fund. Performers include Bill Deasy of The Gathering Field and Rob James of the Clarks.
The scholarship will still be presented in the spring. This year’s recipient is Angela Pecora of Riverview High School, Oakmont.
Knead Community Café to distribute grab and go dinners
Knead Community Café in New Kensington will hand out free grab-and-go dinners from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the café, 1011 Barnes St.
This week’s sponsor is Community Life. Those picking up meals are reminded to observe social distancing while they wait in line.
Salvation Army offers free lunches
The Allegheny Valley Salvation Army and Community Center in Brackenridge offers free grab and go lunches from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays in parking lot at the center, 917 Brackenridge Ave.
