Peoples Library plans annual Adventure with Wine event

Peoples Library will sponsor a different kind of Adventure with Wine event – a drive-thru takeout meal with wine from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 28 with pick-up in the parking lot behind the New Kensington location, 880 Barnes St.

The menu will be by Hoffstot’s Café Monaco of Oakmont and will include mixed greens with cider poppy seed vinaigrette, braised beef pot roast, shallot mashed potatoes, baby green beans, roll and butter, blueberry custard with whipped cream; and red wine.

Volunteers needed to prepare income tax returns

Allegheny Valley Association of Churches and United Way of Allegheny County are looking for people to give their time as volunteer tax preparers.

Many of our neighbors don’t have access to affordable tax help, fall victim to rapid refund loans or are not aware of state and federal tax credits. Free training and certification are provided.

Penn State Extension offers health webinar

Penn State Extension will offer a live webinar, “Healthy Bones, Happy Life: An Osteoporosis Education Program,” at noon and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 29 online.

Choose which session would like to attend. Topics will include information about the disease, risk factors and reducing risk through lifestyle changes.
