Free grab bags for senior citizens to be distributed in New Kensington
The New Kensington Community Health Clinic Inc. and Home Instead Senior Care will distribute free senior resource grab bags from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until supplies run out Wednesday in the parking lot at 943 Fourth Ave., New Kensington.
Seniors can drive up to the white tent and a grab bag containing free items and information will be placed into their vehicle, first come, first served. One per family, please.
The event is being conducted in the place of the annual Senior Health and Wellness Fair.
Leechburg Area Food Bank seeks volunteers
Leechburg Area Food Bank is looking for volunteers to pack and carry food to cars on the monthly distribution day.
A driver with a van or truck with a closed bed is needed to go to Armstrong County Community Action four times per year. The food bank will reimburse money for gasoline.

Campfire ghost story events planned in Allegheny County parks
Allegheny County Parks Department will host four nights of Campfire Ghost Stories during October. All events begin at 7 p.m.
Dates and locations are:
• Oct. 24 in the Commissioners Shelter in Boyce Park, Plum.
• Oct. 25 at Hartwood Acres Mansion, Indiana Township
Listen to spooky stories and songs by the glow of a roaring campfire. Wear a costume for a chance to win a prize. Physical distancing will be observed and face masks are required.
