Highlands High School to present fall talent show

The Highlands High School Fall Follies talent show will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in the high school auditorium, Natrona Heights, Harrison.

Performances will be from the high school Honors Choir, Variations Show Choir and selected acts. Admission is $2.

Fall bingo to fund free Thanksgiving dinner

Addiction Recovery Ministry of Pittsburgh will sponsor a fall bingo at 2 p.m. Sunday in the church hall at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 2599 Freeport Road, Harmar.

Admission is $25 and there will be 10 regular games, five specials and a $200 jackpot game.

For reservations, call 412-378-9290 or email rhaasarm@gmail.com. Proceeds will be used to fund the group’s free Thanksgiving dinner for those suffering from substance abuse disorders, those in recovery and their loved ones.

Burrell SD schedules Fireside Chat event

Burrell Parents as Allies group will host a free Fireside Chat event for district students and parents from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Burrell High School student lot and outside courtyard area, Puckety Church Road, Lower Burrell.

Hot dogs, s’mores, kettle corn and drinks will be served from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Parents and guardians and middle and high school students will engage in small chats around campfires from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. while elementary school students enjoy four activity stations with staff members and high school Interact and choir students. Bring a lawn chair and non-perishable food item for the local food pantry.

The goal of the event is to have fun while re-engaging, learning from conversations and build trust between homes, schools and the community. Reservations are required by Friday. For reservations, visit tinyurl.com/3bvukw8s.
