Online raffle to benefit HOPE Center

The Alle-Kiski HOPE Center is hosting an online raffle online through Friday on its Facebook page in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Over 50 raffle items can be viewed on the events page and under the discussion tab.

Bidding will continue through 8 a.m. Friday. Winners will be contacted by Oct. 26.


Prospect Cemetery offers tour booklets

Because the annual Prospect Cemetery Ghost Tours were canceled this due to the covid-19 pandemic, the cemetery is selling a 40-page booklet with photos and history of the cemetery.

Booklets are $10 with $3 shipping and handling. To purchase a booklet, send a check made out to Prospect Cemetery to the cemetery at 802 10th Ave., Brackenridge PA 15014 or call 724-224-4552 or 724-612-0076.


Free meals and face masks available at Highlands Family Center

Highlands Family Center, Tarentum, will distribute free precooked meals from Eat N Park and fabric face masks from Hanes by appointment from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the center, 415 E. Fourth Ave.

Appointments are required. For an appointment, call the center at 724-224-9006 and leave a message. Call as soon as possible. Spots go quickly.


Free grab and go lunch offered Wednesday at Allegheny Valley Church of God

Allegheny Valley Church of God, 216 Catalpa St., New Kensington, will serve free grab and go lunches at noon Wednesday.

Ham, potatoes and cabbage will be served for as long as the food lasts. For details, call 724-335-0994.
