Oktoberfest planned in memory of late fire chief

The Arnold No. 2 Chief Keith Dziobak Memorial Oktoberfest will be from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at the social hall, 1702 Fifth Ave., Arnold.

There will be German food, beer flights, wine raffles, a stein-holding competition, selfie station and children’s activities. There is no admission charge and ID is required to purchase alcohol.


Fall festival set Saturday in Leechburg Riverfront Park

Leechburg Area Community Association will host a Frightening Fall Festival from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday in Riverfront Park, behind Sprankle’s Community Market., Leechburg.

There will be food, crafts, holiday-themed photo sessions, a petting zoo, children’s games and wagon rides.


View Saturn and Jupiter at free star party

Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh will host a free star party at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Nicholas E. Wagman Observatory, 225 Kurn Road, in Deer Lakes Regional Park, weather permitting.

You can bring your telescope, and AAAP members will be happy to help you with set up and operation. Bring binoculars, a blanket and camping chair.
