Holiday evergreen fundraiser to benefit Community Library of Allegheny Valley

Community Library of Allegheny Valley is accepting orders for holiday evergreen wreaths, door swags and miniature trees.

The library will receive $8 for each item ordered online. Prepaid orders must be placed by Oct. 29 at the library, 1522 Broadview Blvd., and online orders by Dec. 9. Shipped orders will be delivered in the first part of December via Fed Ex. Pickups will begin Dec. 3 at the library.

Participants sought for New Kensington Christmas parade

The New Kensington Christmas parade will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 3 with lineup at 9:30 a.m. on Barnes Street.

Groups, fire departments, clubs and organizations wishing to march or sponsor a float in the parade must fill out an entry form. Forms are available by calling 724-337-4523 or emailing cityclerkadm@nkcity.org.


Masquerade ball planned Oct. 29 in Leechburg

Leechburg Area Community Association will sponsor a masquerade ball from 7 to 11 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Marconi Club, 135 River Ave., Leechburg.

Those attending must be 21. Formal attire and a traditional mask is recommended but not required. There will be a DJ, photographer, cash bar, 50/50 and awards for the best dressed. Catered appetizers and cakes will be served.

Tickets are $25 per couple or $15 each and are available at Leechburg Public Library, 139 Market St., Leechburg.

Today: The Tomb Coffeehouse, 1821 Fifth Ave., formerly known as Lazarus Tomb, will have a 50th anniversary celebration from 7 to 9 p.m. There will be food and refreshments. Residents are encouraged to attend and share their stories and memories of the facility.

Sunday: Arnold Fire Company 95-1 will have a food truck and vendor event from 4 to 10 p.m. at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Drey Street. A fireworks display will begin shortly after 9 p.m. The event was rescheduled from Oct. 1 due to inclement weather.

Avonmore
