Fall festival planned Sunday in Freeport Community Park

The Greg Wells Memorial Fall Festival will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the baseball fields in Freeport Community Park.

There will be a dunk tank, hayrides, a DJ, games, raffles, a food truck, concession stand and a whiffle ball tournament.

Registration for the whiffle ball tournament will begin at 12:45 p.m. and games will start at 2 p.m. Rain date is Oct. 31.

The event is being held by Freeport Area Youth Baseball in memory of baseball coach Greg Wells and proceeds will be donated to his family.

New Kensington school to salute local veterans

Mary Queen of Apostles School, 110 Elmtree Road, New Kensington will host a salute to veterans program Nov. 10 in the school cafeteria.

The school will honor all family members and friends who have served or are serving in the Armed Forces. Veterans should arrive by 12:15 p.m. and will eat a pasta lunch with students at 12:20 p.m. A patriotic music program will be afterward.
