Free health screenings available at Senior Expo
A Senior Expo will be from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the Lower Burrell Veterans of Foreign Wars, 1601 Wildlife Lodge Road.
There will be free health screenings and dozens of vendors will discuss their programs and services for older residents. Refreshments will be available. The event is hosted by Rep. Bob Brooks. For details, call 724-335-2790.

Saxonburg woman’s club to place wreaths on vets’ headstones
GFWC Saxonburg District Woman’s Club will participate in this year’s National Wreaths Across America Day on Dec. 18.
The club is hoping to place a fresh balsam wreath on all 300 of the headstones of veterans who were laid to rest in Saxonburg Cemetery. Wreaths can be sponsored for $15 each. To sponsor a wreath, visit wreathsacrossamerica.org and search for Saxonburg Cemetery.

Pot roast and wine on the menu at Peoples Library fundraiser
Peoples Library will sponsor a different kind of Adventure with Wine event – a drive-thru takeout meal with wine from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 3 with pick-up in the parking lot behind the New Kensington location, 880 Barnes St.
The menu will be by Hoffstot’s Café Monaco of Oakmont and will include mixed greens with cider poppy seed vinaigrette, braised beef pot roast, rosemary and shallot mashed potatoes, baby green beans, roll and butter, blueberry custard with whipped cream; and wine.
